Bananas can be found in nearly every kitchen. There are many practical uses for bananas. In Latin banana means “fruit of the wise man”.  The banana tree is also refereed to as a “Paradise tree” because they are a perfect delicacy… nice and smooth, which, come in a convenient and original package ready to be used.  (This machine makes wonderful banana based ‘ice cream’ effortlessly – here.) A ripe banana is the most nutritional snack that you can eat on the run.  But Bananas are not just a tasty snack they are also very useful. You can use bananas for practical applications around the house.

  1.  To polish leather shoes and silverwareIf all of a sudden you discover that your shoes need some revival, banana peel is your friend.  Remove the fiber from the inner side of banana peel and wipe your shoes with it.  Then, use a piece of soft cloth or paper towel to polish it off.  This same technique can be used for polishing silverware.  Banana skin is even able to improve the condition of leather furniture. 
  2. Banana Facials. Bananas can quickly moisturize dry skin and give it a fresh radiant look.  You will need: one ripe banana, 1 egg yolk, 1 teaspoon of plain organic yogurt, and 1 teaspoon olive oil.  Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and apply to your clean face. Leave it on for 20 minutes. Then rinse off with cool water.  
  3. Teeth whitening. As weird as it sounds, bananas can also help whiten your teeth.  Just take a piece of the inside of a banana peel and rub it around on your teeth for about 2 minutes.  Your teeth will get whiter due to the minerals in the peel like potassium, magnesium and manganese. 
  4. Banana Hair Conditioner.  Mash 1 banana with 1 egg.  Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 3 tablespoons of honey. Blend well and apply thoroughly to scalp and hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse of with cold water, then shampoo. 
  5. Remedy for warts. Due to the high content of potassium,  bananas are great at removing warts.  Rub the inside of a banana peel on a wart every night.  It will take about 2 weeks to remove the wart. 
  6. Indoor plant care. Are the leaves on your houseplants looking dingy or dusty?  Don’t bother misting them with water — that just spreads the dirt around.  Rather, wipe down each leaf with the inside of a banana peel.  It’ll remove all the gunk on the surface and replace it with a lustrous shine. 
  7. Banana ice cream.  Merely blend a frozen banana in a blender.  It really does taste like ice cream. 
  8. Attract butterflies in your garden. Want to attract into your garden more bees and butterflies for pollination of plants? Place or hang over-ripe bananas in your garden (best is to have them high… a little above the head).  The main thing is not to overdo it.
  9. Use for burns, bruises and splinters. Rub the inside of a banana peel on a bruise, it will help the bruise disappear. Oil contained in the banana peel will help ease the pain. 
  10. Tenderize your meat. If your want your meat to be soft and juicy, try wrapping it in banana peel.  Useful enzymes make tough meat soft.  You can also just add ripe banana peel to the pan. 
  11. Banana peel as an Anti-Depressant. Studies have found that drinking boiled banana peel water can ease depression.
  12. Bananas can treat Insect Bites.   Just rub a banana peel on the bite to get rid of the itch.
