Golden Turmeric Smoothie for Pain and Inflammation

Inflammation is the body’s natural defense against tissue damage.  Generally, it’s a very good thing; it helps activate the healing process.  However, when our body is in a state of chronic inflammation it can be very dangerous to our health.  Stress, processed foods and toxins trigger the kind of chronic inflammation that has been linked to many diseases such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, obesity, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cardiovascular issues and many more.  Turmeric is one of the most  powerful anti-inflammatory spice with amazing healing and pain-relieving properties.  According to many studies, turmeric works better than many analgesics at relieving pain. The anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric are effective at easing neurodegenerative disorders, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, intestinal diseases, skin, and lung disorders. I’ve been making this smoothie daily. After having major problems with my root canal being reinfected over and over again (read why you should never get root canals), my body is constantly under stress from fighting infection. It was so easy for me to get sick because my immune system has been compromised. This turmeric smoothie has been a life savior. It strengthens my immune system and fights inflammation.

  1. This might be a silly question, but can you replace the mangoes with a different fruit or are they one of the ingredients that help with the pain and inflammation. From what I read, it seems like it is just the tumeric that does that.

  2. Do you use the full-fat coconut milk in the can or the milk in the carton that would be considered more of a beverage?

    • I buy my unsweetened coconut milk in the carton from Trader Joe’s. Sometimes I use the full-fat one as well.

    • Hi Kathleen! Thank you for your interest. The book is being published right now 🙂
